Villa “Thália”, Meganisi island, Greece

Project: Villa “Thália”, Meganisi island

Architectural design study of Ionian villa in Meganisi.

Inspired by the natural environment, the greenery, the sea view as well as the Ionian Sea location, the design approach of the house was to use natural elements for both the exterior and the interior space, such as stone for wall cladding and the floor, wood for the floor paneling and the ceiling, marble in the exterior space. In that way, the interior architecture is combined harmoniously with the exterior, creating the “in & out effect” with the large openings, giving the feeling that the house is part of the landscaping.

The minimalist boho interior and exterior design style with the soft palette of neutral colors and the natural textures in combination with the natural lighting gives warm feel and makes the space comfort, calm and peaceful.

*The name “Thália” was inspired by the muse Thalia, who was the deity of “good mood” and joyfulness, the inspirer of cheerful songs and her name means “the joyous, the flourishing”.
